Cozumel Rodeo. However, typically, a rodeo might include the following events:

  1. Bull Riding: Perhaps the most dangerous event in rodeo where a rider attempts to stay mounted on a bull for at least 8 seconds while the animal tries to buck off the rider.
  2. Saddle Bronc Riding: Similar to bull riding, but the rider is on a bucking horse and aims to stay on for a set amount of time.
  3. Bareback Bronc Riding: Again, similar to saddle bronc riding, but without a saddle.
  4. Steer Wrestling: Also known as “bulldogging,” this event sees a rider chase a steer, drop from the horse to the steer, and then wrestle the steer to the ground.
  5. Team Roping: This is a team event where two riders rope a steer by its head and legs.
  6. Tie-down Roping: Also known as “calf roping,” a calf is roped around the neck by a lasso, the horse stops and sets back on the rope while the cowboy dismounts, runs to the calf, throws it to the ground and ties three feet together.
  7. Barrel Racing: This is a timed event that combines the horse’s athletic ability and the horsemanship skills of a rider in order to safely and successfully maneuver a horse through a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels.
  8. Breakaway Roping: Similar to calf roping but the calf is not thrown and tied. Once the calf is roped, the horse stops, allowing the rope to ‘break away’ from the saddle.

For specific events at a Cozumel Rodeo, it would be best to check with local event organizers or visit their website for the most up-to-date information. The above events are common at many rodeos, but specific events can vary from one rodeo to the next.
